4 Frequently Asked Questions About JAMB Cut-off Marks 2027

1. What is the JAMB cut-off mark for 2027?

The official JAMB cut-off mark for the 2027/2028 admission session has not yet been confirmed. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) usually announces the minimum UTME scores for admission consideration after consultations with tertiary institutions and other education stakeholders. Candidates should check the official JAMB website at www.jamb.gov.ng for the latest announcement.

2. What is the JAMB cut-off mark for universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education in 2027?

The minimum JAMB cut-off marks for universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education for the 2027/2028 admission session will depend on the official admission guidelines announced for that year. Individual institutions may also set their own admission requirements and departmental cut-off marks. Candidates should confirm the applicable score from their preferred institution before applying for Post-UTME or screening.

3. Is the JAMB cut-off mark the same for all courses in 2027?

No, the JAMB cut-off mark is not necessarily the same for all courses. Although JAMB may announce a general minimum score for admission consideration, universities and other institutions can apply different departmental requirements depending on the course, competition, and number of available admission spaces. Competitive courses such as Medicine and Surgery, Law, Nursing Science, and Engineering may require higher scores than some other programmes.

4. Can I gain admission with a low JAMB score in 2027?

Yes, gaining admission with a relatively low JAMB score may be possible, depending on the institution, course, and applicable admission requirements. Candidates should consider institutions whose admission criteria match their scores and check whether their preferred courses have additional requirements. You can also explore less competitive courses or other eligible institutions, provided you meet their O’Level and screening requirements. However, meeting the minimum cut-off mark does not guarantee admission, as final decisions depend on the institution’s admission criteria and available spaces.
